The TV-Debate illustrated multiple results: 1) some of the top concerns (see the PEW Ranking in this graph) bothering the voters were touched – but most not. 2) Kamela Harris was able to make her case – all post-polls underline her request to go for a second TV debate. 3) Paul Krugman highlighted an observa-tion which rarely is addressed in the opinion leading media, since the topic of age faded: “Many people get worse as they grow older because they become more like themselves”
The unresolved problem of drug addiction is one of the top 5 concerns that have been on the nation's mind for years – but it was not addressed in the TV-Debate.

A real TV debate should include the simple question to both of them: What do you intend to do to atleast reduce the rate of unnatural deaths? In 999 out of 1000 cases, drug addiction has to do with living conditions that are unbearable from a personal perspective. Politics can't do everything - but if you can't provi-de a solid perspective for as many people as possible, why would you deserve the Oval Office?
20 years ago today, Yale University hosted one of its US Presidential Election Debates. Looking at the media tenor analyses, Ed Luttwak asked the oppressive question: “Will Democracy Survive the Media?” Together with the Harvard Kennedy School's Shorenstein Center, we have been presenting data like that in this report ever since. They make it hard for journalists to wash their hands of the question, “Why are Dems and Reps so bad at working together?” like Pontius Pilate in his days.
